[사건의내막/문홍철 기자] = 윤석열 대통령은 17일 “한일 양국이 공급망, 기후변화, 첨단 과학기술, 경제안보 등 다양한 글로벌 어젠다에 대해 공동으로 협력하고 대응할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

 

이날 일본 동경 경제단체연합회 회관에서 개최된 ‘한일 비즈니스 라운드테이블’에 참석한 윤 대통령은 양국 간 미래지향적 경제협력 비전을 논의하며 이 같이 말했다.

 

윤석열 대통령은 “전 세계가 직면한 복합위기를 극복하기 위해서는 보편적 가치를 공유하는 국가 간의 연대와 협력이 중요하다”면서 “특히 디지털 전환, 반도체, 배터리, 전기차 등 미래 첨단·신산업 분야에서 (한일) 협력이 필요하다”고 강조했다.

한편 이날 행사에 한국측에서는 김병준 전경련 회장 직무대행, 김윤 한일 경제협회장, 4대그룹 회장, 전경련 회장단 등 12명의 경제인이, 일본측에서는 도쿠라 마사카즈 경단련 회장, 사사키 미키오 일한경제협회장 등 11명의 경제인이 각각 참석했다.

 

이번 한일 비즈니스 라운드테이블은 양국 정상이 합의한 미래지향적 경제협력 비전을 구체화하고, 양국 경제인 간 교류 및 협력 확대를 논의하기 위해 개최됐다.

 

특히 한일 양국 정상은 지난 16일 한일 정상회담에서 글로벌 경제를 선도하는 양국이 서로 협력해 더 큰 성과를 함께 만들어 내자는데 뜻을 모았다.

 

아울러 반도체와 배터리 등 첨단 산업의 공급망 안정과 첨단·과학기술 협력, 디지털 전환 등 미래를 준비하는 작업을 함께 하기로 했다.

 

이에 윤석열 대통령은 “어제 전경련과 경단련이 함께 발표한 ‘한일 미래 파트너십 기금’을 토대로 미래 세대의 교류가 늘어나고 상호 이해와 협력이 확대된다면 양국 관계가 보다 굳건해질 것”이라고 언급했다.

 

그리고 정부는 한일 정상회담, 한일 비즈니스 라운드테이블 등을 계기로 새 장을 열어갈 양국 경제계의 교류 확대를 지원할 방침이다.

 

이를 위해 그동안 중단된 재무·산업통상자원·과학기술 등 경제 분야 장관급 협력 채널을 조속히 복원하고, 주요 협력사업을 속도감 있게 추진해 나갈 계획이다.

 

한편 한국 대통령이 한일 경제인 행사에 참석한 것은 2009년 6월 이명박 대통령 방일 기간에 개최된 ‘한일 경제인 간담회’ 이후 14년 만이다.

 

또한 전경련 등 재계에서는 4대그룹 회장이 한일 경제인 행사에 모두 함께 참석한 것도 약 20여 년만에 처음이라고 전했다.
