김동연 지사는 이날 인사말을 통해 “(북미지역) 출장 중에 북부특별자치도 때문에 여러 가지 얘기가 있었던 것 같다”면서 “결론적으로 말씀드리면 조금도 차질 없이, 흔들림 없이 추진하겠다”고 말했다.

지난주 금요일(5월 24일) 22대 국회의원 당선자들과 만나 경기북부특별자치도 특별법 통과를 당부했다고 밝힌 김 지사는 “북부지역 당선자들이 북부특별자치도에 대한 강력한 의지를 표명했다. 다음 주에 국회에 가서 많은 분들을 만나려고 한다”고 향후 계획에 대해서도 설명했다.

 

김 지사는 또 “이제까지 준비한 것이 스테이지 원(1단계)이었다면 스테이지 투(2단계)로 보다 더 구체적이고 확실한 변화를 준비하고 있다”면서 “정면으로 돌파하면서 좋은 성과 내겠다”고 강조했다.
