[사건의내막 / 문홍철 기자] = 조승래 더불어민주당 수석대변인은 12월 5일 서면브리핑에서 “끝을 모르는 윤석열 정권의 광기에서 대한민국을 구해내야 한다”고 밝혔다. 

 

조승래 수석대변인은 “베일에 싸였던 불법 계엄, 내란 음모의 배경이 속속 드러나고 있다”면서 “윤석열 대통령과 내란 주동자들의 과대 망상이 뿌리였다”며 “하루 빨리 윤석열 정권을 끝장내고, 이들의 광기에서 대한민국을 구해내야 한다”고 덧붙였다. 

 

김용현 전 국방부 장관이 언론 인터뷰를 통해 선관위에 대한 계엄군 투입 목적이 “부정선거 의혹 조사”라고 밝혔다. 이에 조승래 수석대변인은 “정부 여당이 참패한 지난 총선이 조작됐으므로, 계엄군을 통해 강제 수사하려 했다는 것”이라고 전했다. 

 

이어 조승래 수석대변인은 “극우 유튜브에서나 볼 수 있는 황당한 세계관이다”라면서 “극우 음모론에 중독된 윤석열 대통령과 그 일당들이, 자신들의 판타지를 실현하기 위해 계엄을 선포하고 국민에게 총부리를 겨눈 것”이라고 지적했다. 

 

또한 조승래 수석대변인은 “김용현 전 장관은 국회에 대한 계엄군 투입 목적이 ‘계엄해제 표결 저지’라는 점도 인정했다”면서 “내란죄를 자백한 것”이라면서 “자신들이 원하는 것을 채우기 위해 수단과 방법을 가리지 않고, 국가와 국민의 안위 따위는 아랑곳하지 않았다”고도 했다. 

 

그리고 조승래 수석대변인은 “지금까지 이런 자들에게 대한민국을 맡기고 있었다니 끔찍하다”면서 “이런 자들에게 계속 대한민국을 맡길 수는 없다”고 강조했다.

 

조승래 수석대변인은 “국민의힘 의원들께 다시 한번 호소한다”면서 “윤석열 대통령은 과대 망상에 빠진 내란 수괴이다”라며 “정상적 국정 수행이 불가능합니다”며 “하야, 탄핵만이 대한민국을 구할 수 있다”고 주장했다.
