[사건의내막 / 문홍철 기자] = 한지아 국민의힘 수석대변인은 12월 10일 논평에서 “대한민국을 위해 헌신한 영웅을 제대로 예우하고, 끝까지 기억하겠습니다”고 밝혔다. 

한지아 수석대변인은 “오늘(10일) 본회의에서 군인재해보상법 개정안과 공무원재해보상법 개정안, 국가배상법 개정안이 통과되었다”고 덧붙였다.

한지아 수석대변인은 “전사·순직한 군인이나 공무원이 사후에 진급 추서(追敍)된 계급에 맞게 유족연금을 지급받게 하고, 군인 등이 직무 집행과 관련하여 전사·순직하는 경우 그 유족이 정신적 고통에 대한 위자료 청구권을 국가에 행사할 수 있도록 하는 내용의 법안이다”고 설명했다.

이어 한지아 수석대변인은 “국가와 국민을 위해 희생한 군인과 공무원에 대해 실질적으로 예우하기 위한 진정한 ‘민생 법안’이다”라면서 “나라를 위해 목숨 바친 군인과 경찰, 공무원의 희생을 기리고 합당한 보상과 예우를 드리는 것은 국가의 기본 책무이다”고도 했다.

한지아 수석대변인은 “앞으로도 국민의힘이 더 많이 노력하겠다”면서 “대한민국을 위해 헌신한 우리의 영웅들을 ‘마음’만이 아니라 ‘법과 제도’로서 제대로 예우하고 끝까지 기억하겠다”고 밝혔다.
