이어 9일부터 11일까지는 오흐나 후렐수흐 몽골 대통령의 초청으로 몽골 국빈 방문에 나선다.
위성락 국가안보실장은 3일 브리핑을 통해 이 대통령의 북대서양조약기구(NATO·나토) 정상회의 참석 및 몽골 국빈 방문 관련 브리핑을 통해 이 같은일정을공개했다.
위 실장은 먼저, 나토 정상회의 참석에 대해 "지난달 G7 정상회의에 이어 우리 외교의 지평을 넓히고, 특히 세계 국방비의 55%를 차지하는 최대 방산 시장인 나토 동맹국들을 상대로 방산 협력을 본격 추진한다는 의미를 갖는다"고 말했다.
