구윤철 부총리 겸 재정경제부장관은 이날 대외경제장관회의를 주재하고, 최근 대미통상 현안 및 대응방향, 유상 공적개발원조(ODA) 중심 '한국형 인공지능(K-AI) 패키지' 추진전략등을 논의하는 자리에서 이 같이 밝혔다.
이날 회의에서는 이외에도 ▲WTO 주요 이슈 대응계획 ▲복수국간 그린경제협정(GEPA) 추진계획 ▲한-방글라데시 포괄적경제동반자협정(CEPA) 추진현황 및 계획 등도 논의됐다.
정부는 중동 정세 불안과 글로벌 통상환경 변화 등 불확실성 속에서 대외환경의 안정적 관리를 핵심 과제로 인식하고, 정상외교 등을 통해 구축한 경제협력 네트워크를 적극 활용해 주요국과의 통상리스크를 관리하는 한편 새로운 경제협력 기반을 마련해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.
이에 따라 정부는 정상회담을 계기로 체결된 경제분야 양해각서(MOU)가 우리 기업의 수출과 투자로 이어지도록 이행관리를 한층 강화키로 하고,이를 위해 MOU를유형별로 세분화해맞춤형으로 관리하고 관계부처가 더욱 적극적으로 이행에 나설 수 있도록 지원방안을 마련할 계획이다.

정부는 또미국 측이 추진 중인 과잉생산 및 강제노동 관련 무역법 제301조 조사 등 관세조치와 비관세 분야 후속 이행계획에 대해선 미국 측과 긴밀한 협의를 지속하여 대미 통상관계를 안정적으로 관리해 나갈 방침이다.
대미 투자 관련해서는 최근 시행된 한미전략투자 특별법과 한미전략투자공사 등 전략투자 추진체계를 바탕으로, 프로젝트의 상업적 합리성 등을 면밀히 검토하며 후속 절차를 추진해 나가기로 했다.
이와 더불어 WTO 개혁과 개발을 위한 투자원활화협정(IFDA) 조기 발효, 전자적 전송물 무관세 관행 유지 등 주요 통상 현안 논의에 주도적으로 참여할 예정이다.
또한, 주요국의 기후변화 대응조치가 새로운 보호무역 장벽으로 부상하는 상황에 대응하여 그린경제협정(GEPA) 등 신통상규범 논의에 선제적으로 참여하기로 했다.
한편, 한-방글라데시 포괄적경제동반자협정(CEPA) 타결을 위한 방안도 논의했다.
CEPA 타결을 통해 섬유·의류 중심 기존 협력을 넘어 인프라, 제조업, 디지털, 에너지 등 다양한 분야로 경제협력이 확대될 것이 기대된다.
특히 이날 회의에서 정부는 개도국 성장을 지원하는 동시에 우리 AI 기업과 기술의 해외 진출 확대를 위한 유상 ODA 중심 'K-AI 패키지' 추진전략을 마련했다.
상징성과 파급효과가 높은 한국형 AI 시그니처 사업모델을 개발하여 개도국에 확산할 계획 아래 수자원, 보건, 에너지, 교통, 농업, 문화, 교육 등 우리나라가 강점을 가진 7개 분야를 중심으로 우리 기술과 부품에 기반한 사업메뉴를 마련해 대외경제협력기금(EDCF), 경제발전경험공유사업(KSP), 다자개발은행(MDB) 신탁기금·협조융자, 개발금융 등 다양한 개발협력 수단을 유기적으로 연계하여 지원해 나갈 계획이다.
