이재명 대통령은 27일 네팔에서 발생한 대규모 홍수로 현지 수력발전소 건설 현장에서 근무하던 우리 국민 9명의 소재가 확인되지 않고 있는 것과 관련해 "국민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 일에는 과잉 대응은 없다는 각오로 모두가 가용 자원을 총동원해서 최선을 다해 달라"고 지시했다.

이 대통령은 “애타는 마음으로 연락을 기다리고 있을 가족들의 마음과 상황을 잘 헤아려 세심하게 챙길 것”을 강조하고, 이번 재해로 큰 피해를 입은 네팔 국민과 정부에도 심심한 위로의 뜻을 전했다.
