구윤철 부총리 겸 재정경제부장관은 12일 정부서울청사에서 비상경제본부 회의 겸 경제관계장관회의를 주재하고 이같이 밝혔다.
구 부총리는 "경제가 견조한 성장세를 보여주고 있지만 중동전쟁에 따른 물가·공급망 부담과 환율·금융시장 변동성이 지속되는 가운데, 5월 취업자 수가 감소 전환하는 등 고용의 불확실성이 확대되고 있다"며 "물가·고용 등에 각별한 경각심을 유지하면서 중동전쟁 영향을 최소화하고 민생 안정을 위해 총력을 다하겠다"고 강조했다.

특히 "청년고용 개선에 정책의 최우선순위를 두고 혼신의 노력을 다하겠다"고 말하며 "이를 위해 지난 4월 발표한 청년뉴딜 추진 방안의 핵심 과제를 속도감 있게 집행하고 추가 보완 과제도 적극 발굴하겠다"고 밝혔다.
또한 구 부총리는 "관계부처 간 협업을 통해 계층별·업종별 세부 고용동향을 면밀히 분석하여 신속한 조치가 필요한 사항은 즉시 개선토록 하고, 현장 소통도 강화하겠다"고 말했다.
아울러 "고용 관련 중장기 제도 개선 과제를 적극 발굴하여 시행하는 등 가용 정책수단을 총동원하고, 고용 인센티브를 높일 수 있는 방안도 강구하겠다"며 "고유가·고환율에 대응하여 물가 안정과 중소기업 부담 완화도 적극 추진하겠다"고 설명했다.
구 부총리는 향후 경제관계장관회의를 통해 민생물가·고용안정과 관련된 안건을 매주 논의하는 등 속도감 있게 정책을 추진해 나가는 한편 구조개혁과 초혁신경제 프로젝트도 본격 추진해 제2, 제3의 반도체 등 미래 성장동력을 발굴해 나가겠다고 강조했다.
구 부총리는우리 경제 재도약을 위한 미래 먹거리는 지방에서 시작되어야 한다는 인식 아래 "다음 주부터 5극3특 전국을 직접 찾아다니면서 지역에 특화된 성장동력을 발굴하고 체계적으로 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
이날 회의에서는 '중동전쟁 관련 대응상황 점검', '공장·창고 화재안전 실태조사 추진계획', '초혁신경제 프로젝트 추진 상황 및 향후 계획' 등을 논의했다.
정부는 산업현장의 안전을 강화해근로자가 안심하고 일할 수 있는 공장 환경을 조성하기로 했다.
이를 위한 첫 단계로 과거 화재 이력이 있거나 위험물을 보관하는 공장, 고위험 사업장을 대상으로 관계부처 합동 화재안전 실태조사를 집중 실시한다.
다음 주부터 시범조사를 실시하고 위험도에 따른 단계별 본조사를 통해 화재 취약성, 위법 현황을 꼼꼼하게 점검한다.
